Fringe 81’s success story with AKS
Fringe81, a high-profile firm in the Japanese advertising industry, has released “GrowLio”, a new ad monetization support service enabled by fully-managed Kubernetes and Container services provided through Microsoft Azure.
The company first took note of Kubernetes because it allows customer needs to be rapidly reflected in services.
The challenge of using Kubernetes
Tomokazu Hiroi from the Technology Development Department of Fringe81 Co., Ltd., describes the situation: “The media providers, app vendors, and advertising agencies who are our customers are creating new, original products every day to meet the needs of advertisers. To keep up with this accelerating diversification, it is essential for us to rapidly develop our own services. Azure Kubernetes Service becoming the part of their success

Compared with the other systems making up our service, the delivery platform is expected to see the most changes and improvements in capabilities. So, this is an area where major effects can be expected through implementation with Kubernetes. However, Kubernetes is still a new technology, and we thought it would be difficult to manage on our own. AKS provides a fully-managed Kubernetes environment, so we felt we could realize our implementation without too many worries, even though this is a new technology.”
